Disinfestazione nelle aree pubbliche

La disinfestazione viene condotta su tutto il territorio dopo aver localizzato i focolai ed identificato le specie infestanti.
Vengono condotti due tipi di trattamento:

- interventi per la riduzione del numero delle larve (larvicidi)
- interventi di contenimento degli adulti (adulticidi).

Per tutto il periodo di infestazione la lotta prioritaria è quella larvicida che viene eseguita con trattamenti delle acque di caditoie soggetti a ristagno. La disinfestazione viene condotta con utilizzo di un presidio specifico per il controllo delle larve di zanzara e mosca che altera la crescita larvale ed inibisce la comparsa dell'insetto adulto.

Il trattamento contro le forme adulte (lotta adulticida) qualora necessario, è rivolto a focolai di moltiplicazione presenti nelle aree pubbliche interessate dalla presenza di verde.

Il Comune di Ponzano Veneto- Settore Ambiente ha affidato la disinfestazione e la derattizzazione delle aree pubbliche alla società MyPestControl S.r.l. con il seguente calendario:

Le operazioni sono effettuate utilizzando prodotti che sono tutti regolarmente autorizzati e registrati presso il Ministero della Salute e che offrono ampie garanzie di sicurezza nei confronti dell'uomo, animali ed insetti utili. L'efficacia dei prodotti è controllata dal Servizio di Igiene e Sanità Pubblica.

Le zanzare del genere Aedes possono trasmettere più malattie virali, tra cui la dengue, la febbre gialla e diverse encefaliti che fino a poco tempo fa si erano manifestate solo in aree tropicali.
Recentemente, in Italia, la zanzara tigre ha manifestato la capacità di essere vettore di patologie. Si va delineando una situazione che da semplice problema di molestia e fastidio può evolversi in un problema di sanità pubblica.

Da anni il Comune di Ponzano Vento attua interventi di disinfestazione nelle aree pubbliche ma, considerato che la zanzara tigre si riproduce in piccole raccolte di acqua, è indispensabile che la lotta sia condotta anche dai privati nelle loro aree.
Tutta la comunità è chiamata al controllo dell'infestazione attuando misure idonee per ridurre i focolai di infestazione nelle aree private.

 

Lotta contro la Zanzara Tigre: buone pratiche da seguire

La Zanzara Tigre ha scarsa capacità di spostarsi in forma autonoma; le sue larve si sviluppano in piccole raccolte di acqua stagnanti o a lento deflusso (come: tombini, fogli di nylon, piccoli contenitori, ecc.). 
Realisticamente l'eradicazione completa dell'infestazione non è perseguibile, tuttavia è possibile rallentare significativamente l'estensione dei focolai attuando, in ogni area privata, delle semplici e periodiche operazioni:

  • non abbandonare oggetti e contenitori di qualsiasi natura e dimensioni ove possa raccogliersi l'acqua piovana,  compresi copertoni, bottiglie, sottovasi di piante e simili, anche collocati nei cortili, nei terrazzi e all'interno delle abitazioni;
  • procedere, ove si tratti di oggetti non abbandonati bensì sotto controllo della proprietà privata, alla loro accurata pulizia ed alla chiusura ermetica con teli plastici o coperchi;
  • settimanalmente svuotare contenitori d'uso comune come: sottovasi di piante, piccoli abbeveratoi per animali domestici, annaffiatoi, ecc.;
  • coprire, con strutture rigide (reti di plastica o reti zanzariere), eventuali contenitori d'acqua inamovibili quali ad esempio: vasche di cemento, bidoni e fusti per l'irrigazione degli orti,
  • introdurre nelle piccole fontane ornamentali di giardino pesci larvivori (es. pesci rossi, gambusia, ecc.);
  • provvedere ad ispezionare, pulire e trattare periodicamente con prodotti antilarvali le caditoie per la raccolta dell'acqua piovana, presenti in giardini e cortili;
  • vuotare, almeno una volta alla settimana, i portafiori avendo cura di gettare l'acqua sul terreno;
  • introdurre nei piccoli contenitori d'acqua che non possono essere rimossi  (es. vasi portafiori fissi) filamenti di rame che per essere efficace va mantenuto lucido e utilizzato in ragione di 10-20 mg per litro di acqua.
  • provvedere alla  manutenzione ordinaria degli spazi verdi (giardini, orti, ecc.), questa attività preventiva è più indicata di una attività di disinfestazione massiva e ripetuta.

La disinfestazione delle aree di proprietà privata è a carico dei privati, s'invita eventualmente a rivolgersi a ditte specializzate operative sul mercato.
